The Advisory Committee

The functions of the Advisory Committee are as follows:

  • To monitor the Project on behalf of the Higher Education Funding Councils for the UK, and the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC), providing reports back to those agencies from time to time.
  • To represent the best interests of the broader higher education community in the UK.
  • To receive regular reports from the project on its progress, future project plans and associated milestones and deliverables; to comment on such plans in the light of available resources and the need for economy and efficiency; and to ensure that the project has in place an appropriate management structure and project management methodology to secure the realisation of the project plans.
  • To support the project in achieving its aims, with particular reference to the need to maintain for the project a very high level of visibility in the UK HE community. To propose actions and offer advice as necessary to advance and the project and achieve its goals.

The Advisory Committee is composed of representatives from the partner institutions of the project who also form the Management Board, a senior academic and relevant staff from the partner institutions, JISC nominee(s), other HE and FE sector representatives, and one representatives of the business community. Other groups and individuals will be invited to the Advisory Committee meetings, including the CITSCAPES Project Team. The Members of the Advisory Committee Meeting are:

The Management Board

The functions of the Management Board are:

  • To prepare a detailed project workplan.
  • To adjust the project workplan as circumstances require.
  • To monitor progress of the project, and report to the Advisory Committee and to JISC.
  • To be responsible for financial management of the project.
  • To supervise and offer advice to the Operational Team.
  • To raise awareness of the project within and beyond the UK HE community.

The Operational Team

The functions of the Operational Team are:

  • To carry out the activities described in the detailed workplan.
  • To carry out such other activities relevant to the project as may be prescribed by the Management Board.
  • To report progress to the Management Board on an ongoing basis.

The Project Team consists of the Project Coordinator, the Research Officer and Research Assistants) plus members of the Management Board as their day-to-day involvement or particular expertise necessitates.
